Free Breast Care Services
As a result of the annual Especially for You® Race Against Breast Cancer, since Oct. 27, 1991, free mammograms and other breast care services have been provided to area individuals in need.
Coverage includes:
- Mammograms, additional diagnostic exams and procedures, including MBI
- The fees for an office visit to the doctor ordering the mammogram or a surgeon’s office visit if needed
- Other support services
You may receive assistance if you:
- Live in or around Linn County and use Cedar Rapids healthcare facilities
- Receive a doctor’s written order for a mammogram
- Complete a short, confidential application form
Schedule your mammogram at one of the accredited mammography facilities in Cedar Rapids, which include Mercy Medical Center, St. Luke’s Hospital, St. Luke’s Marion Campus, Radiology Consultants of Iowa, OB-GYN Associates, or Mercy’s mobile mammography unit.
Follow the American Cancer Society’s mammography guideline which recommends a mammogram annually for women 40 and older.
